Meet The Designer

Amy Spingle Interiors is a residential interior design studio serving Ottawa, Montreal, and surrounding areas.

I’m Amy, Principal Designer and Founder. I design homes that feel personal, considered, and genuinely suited to the people who live in them.

My approach starts with understanding how you live, what you’re drawn to, and what isn’t working in your home. From there, I develop a clear direction that brings together function, character, and the way you want your home to feel.

A big part of my role is bringing clarity to the process. I help narrow the options, make sense of the many decisions involved, and ensure everything works together, from the layout and materials to the furnishings and final details. The result is a home that feels layered and cohesive, with a clear point of view that still feels distinctly yours.

education & experience

I hold an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from Algonquin College and a DCS in Interior Design from Dawson College, as well as an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. That background in psychology still influences the way I think about design, particularly how our surroundings affect the way we feel, behave, and move through daily life.

Alongside my design work, I’ve worked as a stylist for HGTV and editorial photography. That experience has shaped the way I look at composition, layering, and the details that make a room feel complete, both in photographs and in person.

Beyond Design

Outside of work, I’m happiest spending time with family and friends, having a quiet evening at home, or watching a good film.

I think some of that carries into the way I design. I want a home to feel good to live in, not just look good. It should make everyday life easier, feel comfortable and personal, and give you a place you genuinely want to come home to.

Designing a home well goes beyond finishes and furniture. It starts with understanding how you live, what you need from your space, and how you want your home to feel.

I take on a limited number of residential projects at a time so I can stay closely involved throughout the process, from early planning and design decisions through to furnishings and final styling.

My work includes full-home design, renovations, and furnishing projects, with each one shaped around the people who will actually live there.
